I buy comic books. Reading them entertains, and provides me a temporary escape from the absurd drudgery of my real world. Over the years I have had few pleasures follow me consistently through life, and reading comic books has been one of them. What I want to highlight in the coming series of posts are some of the brighter and humorous moments I’ve experienced reading and collecting comic books.

That said, as I work through my weekly stack, infrequently something makes me pause. That rare pause is what I want to focus on. Especially those moments where I’ve come across a certain phrase, or piece of dialogue, that made me stop for a second or two in mid-sentence; a turn in words that made me think, laugh, gasp, or think out loud, “Yeah she is right!”
